As online meetings, classes and courses became more common, homes began to be used as offices or classrooms. However, noises coming from the road caused by horns, noises caused by construction works and speech and television noises coming from neighboring apartments make it difficult to work from home. Stating that the need for sound insulation in buildings is increasing as living life online becoming widespread, İzocam draws attention to the importance of sound insulation in our living spaces on the 26 April International Noise Awareness Day. The "International Noise Awareness Day", which was first started in 1996 to raise noise awareness worldwide, is held on April 26 this year.

İzocam, which has been leading the sector for 58 years with its healthy insulation solutions, also provides information about Kalibel, which offers a professional solution to heat and sound insulation and makes a difference in the sector with its easy and fast application to all kinds of structures, on this special day.

Noise pollution is among the environmental factors that cause the most damage to people after air pollution. In today's conditions, we are more exposed to noise pollution in cities with increasing population, due to crowded living spaces and intensified traffic. Noise, which consist of unwanted sounds, is defined as an important environmental pollutant that disrupts our physiological and psychological balance, reduces our work performance, and removes the pleasantness and calmness of the environment.

Noise causes various adverse effects on people such as temporary or permanent hearing damage, changes in body activity, increase in blood pressure, circulatory disorders, acceleration in breathing, rhythm disturbances in heartbeats, sudden reflexes, behavioral disorders, anger, boredom, general feeling of fatigue, decreased work efficiency, concentration deficit disorder, and inhibition of movements. Our children are also heavily exposed to the negative physiological, cognitive and emotional effects of noise. For all these reasons, we need to take the necessary precautions without ignoring the destructive and permanent effects of noise pollution. However, consumers sometimes mistakenly think that sound insulation is possible only in newly constructed buildings, and not in the old buildings where they reside. In response to this misconception, insulation specialist İzocam states that it is never too late for sound insulation.

How is Izocam Kalibel applied?

In order to apply İzocam Kalibel, first, the surface of the wall to be coated needs to be cleaned and prepared. The boards are cut according to the size of the wall, leaving a distance of 1 cm from the floor and 0.5 cm from the ceiling. Three to five kilograms of special adhesive mortar is applied per square meter of the glass wool surface of the board. Kalibel board is removed and then placed on 10 mm-wide wedges placed in advance on the floor at the bottom of the wall. After the boards are leaned against the wall, they are leveled with a rubber hammer and a gauge. The boards are supported until the adhesive sets. After the joints are closed with special net and putty, the Kalibel application is completed by making the last coat of paint.
