Leading Brand İzocam Recommends Insulation to Those Who Do Not Want to Be Affected by Weather Conditions!

İzocam, Turkey's largest insulation manufacturer, recommends insulation to both those affected by cold weather and those overwhelmed by hot weather. When we talk about insulation, the first thing that comes to our minds is protecting our buildings from the negative effects of cold weather during winter days. However, thermal insulation applications insulate our living spaces by protecting them not just from the effects of cold but also from the effects of heat. Insulation, which minimizes the cost of heating in cold winter days, also allows us to save energy consumed for air conditioning during the sweltering summer months.

Stating that it is essential for the roofs and walls of buildings to be insulated in order to spend the summer months as comfortably as the winter months, İzocam General Director Mr. Murat Savcı has said, “Those living on the top floors are more affected by the summer heat especially in buildings where the roofs do not have sufficient insulation or no insulation at all. The walls and roof, which absorb heat during the day, release the trapped heat when the outside environment cools down at night, causing the inside of the house to warm up. For this reason, households cannot feel the effect of the cooling air outside at night inside their homes. Therefore, it is necessary to insulate buildings also for summer months in order to achieve maximum comfort and energy-savings.”

Noting that there are over 9 million buildings and over 22 million households in Turkey, Mr. Murat Savcı said, “Approximately 85 percent of these buildings serve as residential buildings. In 2022, the average natural gas and electricity consumption values per household were 984 m3 and 3000 kWh, respectively. Even in a house that is insulated at the minimum level required by the current regulations, an average of approximately 325 cubic meters of natural gas and 1050 KWh of electricity are saved annually. When heating and cooling are considered together, the amount of annual savings to be achieved can reach approximately 0.73 tons of oil equivalent (TOE).”

Emphasizing that one of the most important reasons for Turkey's current account deficit is energy imports, which have a significant share of 20-25 percent among all imports, İzocam General Director Mr. Murat Savcı said, “As Turkey, we purchase the energy we use from abroad by paying billions of dollars. 40 percent of the energy we consume is used in buildings, approximately 30 percent in industry, and the rest in areas such as transportation and agriculture. 80 percent of the energy consumed in buildings is consumed for heating and cooling purposes. Even in a building with insulation in accordance with the minimum criteria required by the regulations, more than 60 percent energy saving is achieved compared to an uninsulated building. It is possible to reduce the energy used in buildings by up to 90 percent with nearly zero-emission buildings (NZEB). In other words, we can reduce energy imports by 25 percent just by expanding insulation applications in buildings.”

High thermal insulation with İzocam Glass Wool Building Blanket, Foamboard and Manto İzopor Plus Products

İzocam, which has been the leader of the insulation industry for 58 years thanks to the value it attaches to innovation and R&D works, continues to offer more economical and higher thermal comfort products to the market with a view to developing the right solutions for the right needs İzocam Glass Wool Building Blanket, Foamboard and Manto Izopor Plus products, which stand out with their high thermal insulation properties, are among İzocam's main products that protect buildings from the effects of the heat as well as the cold.

İzocam Glass Wool Building Blanket is used on flooring in unused attics, between rafters in used attics, in horizontal applications that do not bear any load, and on metal and sandwich roofs. İzocam Glass Building Blanket, which stands out with its high thermal insulation, fire safety and sound insulation features, also draws attention with its different size options, lightness and ease of application.

İzocam Foamboard is preferred in buildings with terrace roofs in the southern parts of Turkey, especially in provinces with very hot summers. Providing thermal insulation with its high compressive strength, İzocam Foamboard ensures the comfort conditions needed by building occupants at minimum energy costs, with its features such as ease of application, lightness and water resistance.

The most suitable system to apply on walls for the purposes of thermal insulation is sheathing systems. İzocam's Manto İzopor Plus product is produced specifically for plastered exterior insulation systems in accordance with TS EN 13499. Manto Izopor Plus, a carbon-added expanded polystyrene sheet, is among İzocam's master-friendly products with its high thermal insulation, lightness and ease of application features.
