İzocam, Turkey's world-renowned giant insulation brand, celebrated its successful work it has carried out in the field of environment, occupational health and safety with the motto of "Safety starts with you!" with special events organized within the scope of the environment, health and safety (EHS) Day.
The EHS Day, which is celebrated every two years in October in all companies of the Saint-Gobain group, including İzocam, was held for the 10th time this year. The EHS Day event, which was celebrated with a series of activities organized within İzocam between October 10th-14th, started with the speeches of İzocam General Director Mr. Murat Savcı, Assistant General Manager Mr. Doruk Özcan, Investments and Production Director Mr. Ahmet Oruç, Technical Support and Product Management Coordinator Mr. Mustafa Rüştü Uz, EHS Manager Ms. Gönül Yüzbey and Facility Managers. The final competition of the Occupational Health, Safety and Environment, Sustainability Tournament organized between the facilities throughout the year was also held within the scope of the event. Cash prizes were
presented to the employees of Dilovası-Stonewool facility, who won the final matchup against Gebkim facility. The event, in which the award-winning EHS bingo featuring questions about occupational health, safety and the environment was held, was the scene of colorful events for four days.
Eskişehir Facility left behind its 5th accident-free year
İzocam Eskişehir Facility left behind its 5th accident-free year this year and İzocam Tarsus Facility left behind its 1000th accident-free day thanks to the efforts they have put in with the motto of “Safety starts with you”. İzocam General Director Mr. Murat Savcı stated that they continue to make investments in the field of Environment, Occupational Health and Safety and will continue their works uncessantly in the coming period with a view to sustaining their success in this field. Mr. Savcı has said: “We aim to be a sustainable company through 'personal commitment, leadership and excellence' by making the environment, occupational health and safety an integral part of our daily operations with the participation of all our employees. We know that every day we spend in a safe and healthy way will form the basis of a safe and healthy year, a safe and healthy future and a safe career environment for all of us. Bearing this goal in mind, we ceaselessly continue our efforts to increase the sensitivity and awareness of our employees in respect of environment, occupational health and safety. We organize EHS tournaments with the participation of our employees as well as field practices and various events to improve the behavioral culture. In addition to all these, we organize various trainings on Environment, Occupational Health and Safety. In this way, we always keep the importance of Environment, Occupational Health and Safety on the agenda of our employees. We act with the mission of keeping Environment, Occupational Health and Safety on the agenda not only of our employees but also of our customers and stakeholders, by celebrating Occupational Health and Safety Week in May every year and Environment Week in June every year with our internal and external communication activities.
In addition, as İzocam, we have been implementing the ISO (International Organization for Standardization) 14001 Environmental Management System since 1999 and the Occupational Health and Safety Management System, which was certified with OHSAS (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) 18001 in 2001 and maintained with ISO 45001 in 2021, in all our facilities. Based on the strength we derive from the Integrated Management System and the active participation of our employees, we successfully continue all our activities in a way that support our sustainability policies with high efficiency and belief.”
İzocam crowned its EHS achievements with the “Safety Diamond” award!
İzocam crowned its achievements in occupational health and safety with the “Safety Diamond” award it has received in the "Safety Cultural Transformation" category of the Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Awards (EHS Awards) organized by Saint-Gobain last month. İzocam's award, which was given based on the selections of the international jury, was presented by Mr. Benoit Bazin, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Saint-Gobain, to İzocam, on September 27th at a special ceremony held in Paris.
