İzocam Protects Water Meters and Plumbing from the Risk of Freezing

Insulation is essential to prevent bursting of water meters and water pipes, which frequently occurs during the cold winter months, and to save more than 50 percent in energy.
As we step into the winter months, temperatures have started to drop to minus degrees in many provinces. İzocam, Turkey's largest insulation manufacturer, warned citizens about the risk of freezing in water meters and plumbing as the effects of cold weather gradually increase. In these days, insulating the plumbing with İzocam protects water meters and pipes from damage and saves more than 50 percent in energy.
Bursting of pipes and water meters due to freezing, which frequently occurs during the winter months when the air temperature drops to minus degrees, causes hundreds of water meters to break down every year, while burst water pipes also cause damage and water losses. Exposed water pipes freeze and get damaged, whereas exposed water meters freeze and burst. İzocam warns everyone that bursting due to freezing can be prevented by insulating water pipes and water meters. Pipe diameter, outdoor temperature and insulation thickness have a direct impact on water pipes and water meters. As the insulation thickness increases, the resistance to freezing increases as well as the freezing time of stagnant water.
Easy to apply, İzocam Valve Jacket prevents water meters from bursting. This special insulation jacket, produced specifically for valves and the outer

surface of which is covered with silicone coated glass fabric, offers a solution for the thermal insulation of all valves (plunger valve, ball valve, butterfly valve etc.) and strainers produced in accordance with DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung), ANSI (American National Standards Institute), API (American Petroleum Institute) standards in closed or open environments and prevents freezing.
İzocam Optiflex Pipe provides a solution to the freezing problem that may occur in any plumbing element in which stagnant water freezes. İzocam Optiflex Pipe, made of polyethylene, uncoated or coated with aluminum foil, provides a solution for the insulation of pipes against sweating or freezing.

Energy savings of more than 50 percent
Insulating plumbing systems also provides a solution to the increase in energy costs that challenges everyone from individual users to tradesmen and industrialists. İzocam, the giant brand of insulation, emphasizes that insulating the heating and cooling water plumbing in buildings not only allows the desired temperature and comfort conditions to be reached quickly, but also enables the temperature to be maintained for a long time, providing energy savings of more than 50 percent.
In buildings with plumbing insulation, for example, the hot water in the pipes distributed throughout the building from the boiler operating during the winter months maintains its temperature and therefore its energy until it reaches the flats. On the other hand, in buildings without plumbing insulation, the temperature in the pipes decreases until the water reaches the flat, the flat heats up with a delay, and since the water in the return pipe cools more, the boiler must spend more fuel (energy) to reheat it. When the temperature in the pipes drops below a certain degree, the efficiency of the boiler decreases. Maintaining the temperature of the water passing through the pipes is only possible through insulation. İzocam Prefabricated Glass Wool Pipe, made of glass wool for hot water plumbing and indoor use, provides the opportunity to reach the desired energy efficiency.
