In giving a statement about the Covid-19 pandemic, Gözdehan Çaycı, Director of Human Resources at İzocam, said: "Offering knowledge and spreading awareness is just as important as hygiene and protective measures against the pandemic."
Çaycı noted that İzocam cared deeply about the health of its employees, their families and the general public and was committed to the idea of a sustainable future for all.
İzocam had launched many protective measures before Covid-19 was identified in our country. All İzocam employees´ compliance with these quick and coordinated measures in line with the company´s Occupational Health and Safety culture acts as a facilitator of this process.
Noting that they align their actions with the motto of the company´s Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) vision and policies "Safety Starts with You", Gözdehan Çaycı, Director of Human Resources at İzocam, said that they united under this motto against the virus and that everyone was doing their best. Çaycı said: "At İzocam, we gradually improved the measures we take against the COVID-19 pandemic in line with the warnings and information issued by the World Health Organisation and our Ministry of Health.
Our first action was to require permits for domestic and international visits as of February. In February, we gathered with our employees, dealers and suppliers at various venues to maintain the steady flow of information.
As of March, we started to hold activities to increase COVID-19 awareness at Safety Timeouts which is one of the most important tools of communication for our OHS vision.

We were quick to implement the 14-day quarantine rule for our employees returning from abroad and started to take our people´s temperature twice a day at our facilities and headquarters. We provided our headquarters, facilities and Regional Sales Directorates with sanitisers and educated our employees on how to use them. We have changed the materials we used to clean office and floor areas. We have changed the cleaning frequency for the common areas and wet floors at our offices and facilities.
We have formed a crisis desk to boost our coordination and communication strength, enhancing our ability to collaborate as a result.
With the first cases being identified in Turkey, we implemented and have been enforcing measures under İzocam´s Emergency Action Plan with regards to the guidelines issued by our Ministry of Health as well as the pandemic.
Noting that most office employees started to work from their homes and that travels were suspended until further notice, Gözdehan Çaycı said: "We have replaced in-person meetings with digital ones for the time being. We have adjusted the occupancy rate of office shuttles in line with the social distancing rules and enhanced hygiene with special sanitisers."
Çaycı underlined the fact that İzocam employees were issued messages containing notes and protective measures against the virus.
Noting that they formed WhatsApp groups for instant communication in case of an emergency, to notify our employees quickly, and to take preventive measures without causing panic and that workplace physicians offered training on what to do in case of suspected and/or confirmed cases, Çaycı listed the precautions being taken: "All our employees were issued documentation on immunity booster supplements. The employees with physical disabilities that prevented them from adhering to hygiene rules were given leaves of absence."
Noting that İzocam cared deeply about the health of its employees, their families and the general public and was committed to the idea of a sustainable future for all, Çaycı concluded their words with the following remarks:
"As it has been the case with many things, our company was first in this case as well and took all measures quite early. Health and Occupational Safety of Employees is number one priority of İzocam and care deeply about these matters. We will constantly improve upon the measures against Covid-19 and strive to protect the health of our employees as well as all our stakeholders.
Precautions are key to fighting the virus. Instead of succumbing to fear or panic, we can follow all precautions in our work lives and social lives to protect ourselves and our loved ones.
