The international stage of the Insulation Contest organized by Izocam for the fifteenth time this year is concluded. The Middle East Technical University (ODTU) students having represented our country in the finals in Kazakhstan, Mirbek Bekboliev, Kutay Can Biberoglu and Burak Ilhan have won the first Jury Special Reward.
The international stage of the Insulation Contest organized for the fifteenth time by Izocam took place between May 27 and 30. Having designed sustainable buildings integrated with the new urban space, in line with the “Energy of the Future” theme of the EXPO considering the extreme continental climate conditions of the city of Astana, students delivered their presentations before the jury. Zaura Aitayeva, Telman Tyshkanbaev, Yerlan Sakipov, Zhomart Mussayev from Kazakhstan, Yuri Smirnov from Kyrgyzstan, Slawomir Szpunar from Poland, Leif Andersson from Sweden and Roland Matzig from Germany served as the jury in the contest. The winners of the international Insulation Contest in which the best projects from 20 countries competed were determined after the jury’s evaluation.
ODTU students Mirbek Bekboliev, Kutay Can Biberoglu and Burak Ilhan were awarded the Jury Special Award of the contest in which 1300 students participated. Having gained an international dimension with Isover for 6 years, Izocam Insulation Contest for University Students finalists brought the Jury Special Award to our country for the second time.
Kazakhstan received the first award while France and Romania received the second and third awards respectively in the contest. Turkey received the first Jury Special Award while Slovakia and Czech Republic received the second and third Jury Special Awards respectively in the contest.
