 Özcan said: Thick insulation reduces the energy consumption resulting from the use of air conditioning in the summer. A house which is located in Bodrum, Antalya or Cesme needs as much insulation as those in Istanbul. When we look at the insulation thickness, these values vary according to the locations of province, even districts. For example, in a summer house located in Datça, insulation must be made at least 6 cm on the walls and at least 10 cm on the roofs as per the current local regulations. These thicknesses also apply to other districts such as Fethiye, Datca, Marmaris and Gokova which are the apple of summers eye. In order to achieve higher energy efficiency and better indoor conditions, the thick insulation made according to the seasonal conditions must be installed in accordance with the regulations and even above the thickness determined by these regulations. With this thick insulation applied, full protection can be provided and summer houses offering more comfortable, healthier and better living conditions can be possessed.
