The oven renovation process at İzocam’s Stone Wool Facility in Dilovası was completed in 6 weeks. “Doğa III” oven, which was renovated with a 3 Million Euro investment, was fired up on April 8.
İzocam made a 3 Million Euro investment to for oven renovation at its Stone Wool Facility in Dilovası which was last renovated 6.5 years ago. The oven renovation process, which began on 25 February 2019, has been completed and the oven was fired up for the first time on 8 April 2019. The production activities with the oven named “Doğa III” began on 19 April 2019. Much like Doğa II oven, which has output 393,000 tons of products, Doğa III oven will contribute to the low-carbon development of Turkey thanks to its productivity.
Assessing the new oven being brought into service, Doruk Özcan, Deputy General Manager for Financial Affairs at İzocam, said: “The new oven investment will enable us to produce higher quality products more safely. The oven renovation process, which was handled in state-of-art conditions and with counsel from experts, will facilitate out switch to other production lines and provide an ‘agile’ production process. This will allow us to ‘keep our customers closer’ and better answer to their expectations.”
At the İzocam Dilovası facility, which spans over an area of 61,291 m², 75 thousand tons of Stone Wool, which provides thermal and sound insulation and fire safety, is produced in line with the TSI standards. İzocam follows the ISO 9001 Quality Assurance System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, OHSAS 18001 Worker Health and Occupational Safety System, ISO 50001 Energy Management System and ISO 27001 Information Security Management System standards at Dilovası facility where the oven renovation investment was made. İzocam Stone Wool product produced at the facility is supplied to the market bearing the CE mark, which means as stipulated under Article 6 of the International Building Materials Regulation “material that allows a product to satisfy the basic requirements set forth under the regulation”. It is also EUCEB certified, which is only issued to bio-products. İzocam Stone Wool is also EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) Certified whereby it has proven its merit internationally. The objective of EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) is to encourage the disclosure of verified qualitative environmental information of products or services with the public transparently and the products and services with a lesser impact on the environment. EPD certifications offer valuable insight regarding the environmental performance of building materials.
Operating in a wide field including insulation material production from buildings and fittings, train cars, household ovens, fire doors and solar collectors with its thermal, sound and fire insulation products, İzocam has contributed greatly to our country economy with the products that it has been producing for 54 years. İzocam has contributed to 200 million tons of equivalent petroleum (TEP) in energy. This figure is the equivalent of the savings to be achieved by insulating 15 billion m² of roof space in Istanbul’s climate conditions using 100 mm of İzocam Glass Wool Roof Mats, but also to 12,500 hospitals, 29 Marmaray projects (the cost of initial line opening and stations at the Marmaray project was 3.3 billion dollars) and our national income from tourism over a course of 3 years. 15 billion m² space is the equivalent of 2,300,000 football fields or 5 times the area of TRNC.
