Within the scope of the required “ARCH 190 - Summer Practice” course for freshmen of the Department of Architecture in Middle East Technical University, Izocam provided insulation installation training on 10 & 17 & 24 June and 1 July as part of summer school internship activities.
The training which took place in practice workshop of Izocam located in Turkish Yol-Iş Intes Training Site Sincan-Ankara included practices on Plastered External Thermal Insulation Systems with Plaster, Roof and Floor Insulation.
Students were first introduced to technical specifications of insulation materials, their areas of use, selection criteria and implementation techniques; then they were given the opportunity to work on Izocam Manto External Thermal Insulation Systems application, floating floor application and roof thermal insulation application under expert technical teachers in the workshop. Practice of all components of the Izocam Manto External Thermal Insulation Systems was introduced to the students as a step-by-step demonstration and they continued to practice on this application in the working space allocated for them. The students were informed on the importance of application of external thermal insulation, within a system and by using the accurate application methods through Izocam Manto External Thermal Insulation Systems including all of the insulation materials.
During the training, freshmen in the Department of Architecture were introduced to various insulation materials having different structure and properties including Izocam Stone Wool, Izocam Glass Wool, Izocam Foamboard (XPS – Extruded Polystyrene Board), Izocam Izopor (EPS - Expanded Polystyrene); the training helped them gaining information on right application techniques, right selection methods of insulation materials, improving know-how and skills as well as raised their awareness on insulation and energy savings.
